Viñales is considered the capital of nature tourism in Cuba. If you visit Cuba, it's a place you can't miss.
The landscape that makes up Viñales can't be seen anywhere else in the world. Their mogotes are unique. In this landscape there are several endemic plants.
For lovers of speleology, nature and adventure tourism, hiking and bird watching, the valley is a celebration of possibilities. It has more than three hundred caves and among them, the second largest in Latin America: the Great Cave of Santo Tomás, 46 km long and a seven-level cave system.
Viñales is an enigmatic village, with colorful houses, sublime mogotes and armchairs in all the portals. Their vernacular tradition distinguishes them: their music, their poetry, their singing. It is a village of hospitable, kind and honest smiling people.
In 1999, it was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The British publication Business Insider at the end of 2017 consulted the most important world experts in the travel industry about the places they would recommend to visit in 2018 and among the 25 sites chosen was the Pinar del Río municipality of Viñales, in the west of Cuba.
